Deburring machines

The next generation in deburring

Baden-Baden, Germany – As a specialist for leveling and deburring, ARKU continually sets new standards through innovative ideas and developments. This is done in close collaboration with the customers.

"We are known for our innovation," says Sales Director Andreas Hellriegel. A team of engineers and sales professionals at ARKU drives product development forward. Customer feedback is specifically addressed and turned into clever products. As a result, ARKU has been repeatedly named one of Germany's most innovative medium-sized companies by WirtschaftsWoche.

The next generation of deburring machines

In its own leveling and deburring centers, the technology is further developed and optimized together with customers. "This is done based on concrete application cases and tests that we conduct daily," says the Sales Manager. The goal is always to find a suitable technical solution or achieve time and cost savings for our customers. These customers come to ARKU with very specific requirements, such as sheet metal parts cut with a fiber laser. The cutting process creates burrs that are difficult to remove. For this, ARKU has developed a whole series of EdgeBreaker® machines under the names NEXT and FIBER. After successful testing, these machines were introduced to selected customers. Their special feature: They can deburr and round the edges of parts cut with a fiber laser on both sides in just a single pass. "With the EdgeBreaker® 3000 NEXT and the FIBER, we have reached an even higher level," says Hellriegel. With the new machines, laser burrs can be removed more reliably than ever before – and this applies to materials up to 2000 mm in width.

Because stagnation is synonymous with regression, ARKU currently has further developments for new products in the pipeline. While speed is one of the key attributes of the Baden-Baden specialist, precision is the top priority. Before a machine is considered "tested," it goes through a roughly one-year testing phase. "Our first test customer is always ourselves," explains the Sales Manager. Only when all signals are green does a new machine reach production readiness.

Another innovation is the integration of the ARKU Wizard into the new machine models. This provides users with an intelligent interface that allows the machine to automatically adjust itself, preventing operator errors. "For the users, the operation of deburring systems has become significantly easier and more reliable," emphasizes Hellriegel.

Sustainability plays an increasingly important role in the development or improvement of machines. Take energy consumption, for example: With the latest generation of the "EdgeBreaker®," up to 40 percent of energy can be saved during processing.

The high-quality standards that ARKU applies to its deburring machines naturally also apply to the grinding tools used within them. The company consistently focuses on further development, consulting, and availability from stock. If needed, customers have access to a 24/7 webshop with a wide selection of grinding tools.

Visitors from both domestic and international locations can experience the innovation and "magic" of ARKU’s deburring and leveling machines at the ARKU InfoDays Leveling + Deburring, taking place from May 13 to 15, 2025, in Baden-Baden. Guests will have the opportunity to bring their own sheet metal parts and witness firsthand how they are precisely leveled and deburred. ARKU experts will be available for individual consultations and will present the latest technological developments.
