All gaps closed in the sheet metal process

Deburring with the EdgeBreaker® 6000. A success story of Autz + Herrmann GmbH.

Comprehensive sheet metal processing

“Metal Sheet Unlimited” underlines Autz + Herrmann’s latest mission. With this slogan, the Heidelberg company likes to illustrate that they master the entire sheet metal process. There should be no limits on new solutions and shapes. Therefore, the portfolio is accordingly broad.

“At sales, we no longer need to ask the customer if edge rounding is required. We simply have it included in our portfolio.”
- Florian Friedrich, technical manager at Autz + Herrmann

Eliminating the bottleneck for processing

Autz + Herrmann first had to eliminate some blind spots from their sheet metal process before they could market the new claim. In particular, deburring and edge rounding were identified as bottlenecks.

Even in the past they have had discussions with some new customers because edge rounding was not clearly mentioned in the portfolio. Since 2021, Autz + Herrmann are also working with Laserhub, an industrial procurement platform, where edge rounding is a standard requirement.

After deburring, the difference to the unprocessed workpiece is easily noticeable: as Stefan Sauter, ARKU Sales, explains to Florian Friedrich, Autz + Herrmann’s Technical Manager.
Worker work on machine
Thanks to the intuitive control, the EdgeBreaker® 6000 is very easy to operate.

Two workers
For downstream processes like robot welding, carefully processed sheet metal edges are essential.

The EdgeBreaker® can also handle smaller or narrow workpieces well, thanks to the vacuum belt.
Blades
Workpieces are quickly deburred, and the edges are cleanly rounded with the EdgeBeaker® 6000.

The advantages for Autz + Herrmann as an overview:

  • Full metalworking offering from a single source - without any bottlenecks
  • Significantly improved quality with the EdgeBreaker® 6000 compared to manual deburring
  • Process reliability and higher productivity through mechanical processing

EdgeBreaker® 6000

Specially designed for punched and laser cut parts: After removal of the burr by the grinding belt, the EdgeBreaker® 6000 rounds all inner and outer contours. In the last processing step, the machine can apply a specific material finish. For optimal deburring, edge rounding and finishing results in just a single pass.
