The decision was made two years ago to purchase the new cut-to-length line, which was delivered in 2008. The medium-sized Steel Service-Center in Hagen did not want to leave anything to chance. “ARKU assured us they could meet our high standards,” said Ducke. “We couldn’t have expected them to be that specific in meeting our goals.”

To keep up with increasing application of high tensile materials, the investment was made in a new cut-to-length line during 2008. The high capacity leveler, HiCap® PLUS, of the Baden company rich in tradition is equipped with a cassette-change system. In one leveler, cassettes with varying roller diameters can be easily used. Thus, the HiCap® PLUS offers the thickness range of two machines.

The new cut-to-length line for up to 2.100 mm wide metal strip was brought into service mid 2008. This line processes coil-weights up to 30 tons and sheet metal up to 4 mm thick. In addition to edge trimming the cut-to-length line divides the strip into two by a mid-cut.

“The first impression that we had of ARKU proved true”, Andreas Ducke says. “It was a great cooperation and the results are impressive.”
